Working meeting between the President of the CHS and the Mayor of Bullas (05/10/2018)

The Mayor, María Dolores Muñoz, and the Councilor for Agriculture and Water, Juan Valera, yesterday held a meeting with the President of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, Mario Urrea, to address issues that are the competence of the Basin Agency in the municipality of Bullas.

Thus, it was, among other issues, the cleaning of boulevards such as the 'Muletos' in its section next to the RM-15 highway and the inclusion of Bullas City Council in the General Meeting of Users where the actions will be approved for the recovery of the masses of affected waters and participate in the Plan of Ordination.

Once again, the City Council of Bullas reiterated to the President of the CHS that it maintain the permanent ecological flow that ensures the continuity of the Mula River and its ecosystem from its natural source of the Mula Source.

In this sense, the first Edil reminded her of the commitment made by the Basin Agency, by which she committed within two years to approve an Ordination Plan for the recovery of the aquifer or hydrological unit such as the Fuente Mula.

This Plan will order the extraction regime to achieve a rational exploitation of resources.

On the other hand, Urrea was informed of the meetings held with communities of irrigators of Albudeite and Campos del Río to unify positions to request such ecological flow of the Mula River, as well as meetings with the representatives of the Community of Regantes del Pantano de La Cierva so that the ecological flow becomes a reality in the shortest time possible.

"We want the CHS to make all the necessary investments to provide the Mula River with a sufficient ecological flow for the maintenance of the ecosystems and habitats associated with it," points out Councilman Valera, in turn transferring the idea of ​​how water can return to flow from birth

On the other hand, the mayor Juan Valera in brief dates will convene environmental volunteers who are registered in the City Council to inform them more carefully of the meeting and at the same time take stock of the 1st protest march "For a Living River" and establish a work schedule with volunteers.

Valera, requests the collaboration of citizens in the event that it is aware of actions in the municipality that could constitute acts classified as infractions that could affect the aquifers that inform the Confederation or the City Council so that they can transfer the complaint and thus the appropriate investigations can be initiated.
