Last Saturday, January 26, the Ordinary Assembly of the irrigators of the Cañada de Los Olmos was held in the Plenary Hall of the City of Bullas.
The Councilor for Agriculture, Juan Valera Gea, attended the meeting.
Among the points discussed, it was approved to continue with the same water prices in both consumption and annual maintenance.
Also, the monitoring that is being done to the installation of photovoltaic solar energy was reported and the good results were verified, not only valued in terms of economic costs but also environmental costs with the consequent reduction of CO2 in the atmosphere.
The solar pumping will allow this Community that the water costs are lower and can be invested in the improvement of the facilities.
They estimate that a saving of more than 18,000 euros per year can be achieved.
In this regard, the Assembly approved to disconnect from the electricity grid and have 100% self-consumption.
For Councilman Juan Valera "this is something very positive" and praises the commitment of this Community of Irrigators for a clean energy, congratulating them for the good management of existing resources.
