Presented the 'June Green' programming (18/03/2019)

Last Friday was presented the programming of 'Green June' which is characterized by having various activities aimed at all audiences such as nature routes, peasant days, the mountain cycle with talks and film screenings, conferences and the photo contest fotorrally, among others, which will run from this month of March to June.

The Department of Environment together with associations and groups of the municipality are the main organizers of these activities.

In this edition, as new features include a construction workshop and placement of bat nest boxes (June 8) and the public presentation of the Northwest Defense Council (June 7).

And on the other hand, on May 11, the VI Campesinas de Bullas Conference will take place from 10 in the morning at the Villa de Bullas square with a street market selling organic and traditional products.

In addition, this year also the town of Bullas will once again claim a live river in the 2nd Reclaiming March for an ecological flow at the head of the Mula River, an activity scheduled for June 1.

Another of the activities, will be this Thursday, March 21, consists of the screening of the documentary "Canalejas".

A film by Joaquín Lisón with which he intends to follow the course of the river from its source in Pontones to its mouth in Guardamar, showing the diversity of the landscape that exists in the course of Segura.

It will be at 19.30 in the Plenary Hall of the City Council and at the end there will be a talk with the director and the main actress.

"Within the framework of June Green we will have speakers of recognized prestige, members of the newly constituted Northwest Council, environmental didactic routes in which you will be able to know first hand our flora, traditional and medicinal plants, nest box construction, waste collection in our river, the 2nd protest march, etc. activities with which we try to awaken consciences and reflect on the sustainability of our natural resources "said Councilman Juan Valera in the presentation.

Pepe "el Esparteña" received the award 'Green June'

In addition, taking advantage of the act that took place in the Plenary Hall of Bullas Town Hall, the 'Green June' award was given, in its third edition, to José Sánchez, known as Pepe "el Esparteña", who was President of the Irrigators of the Inheritance of the Huertas del Molinar from the mid 80's to the year 2014.

The award was given by the Mayor of Bullas, María Dolores Muñoz, and the current President of the Irrigation Community of the Inheritance of Molinar, José Martínez Puerta.

"This award recognizes the efforts of people and institutions that have carried out or have carried out outstanding work for the advancement, promotion and improvement of living conditions in the Natural environment of our municipality of Bullas" said the first Edil who added that Pepe "el Esparteña" is "an example of the values ​​and capacities that characterize us as a people, his dedication and that of the irrigators of the Molinar made it possible for the huerta del Molinar not to disappear and that the pipeline of the Mula River will reach our end Municipal".

José Sánchez represents with this award all the irrigators of these traditional irrigation gardens located in a place of the most beautiful of the Region of Murcia who fought to preserve an irreplaceable cultural and environmental heritage.
