The City of Bullas presented, in an event organized by the Institute for Development, within the framework of the LIFE ADAPTATE Project, its experience in adaptation and mitigation to climate change.
Juan Pedro Muñoz Gea, First Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Sustainable Development, conveyed the good practices developed in the two LIFE projects that the City of Bullas has developed since 2010 to date, and which have had as a main consequence that the municipality count on a Local Adaptation Plan for Climate Change, since 2013. Plan that has now been updated and expanded to constitute an Adaptation and Mitigation Plan that will allow tackling local climate challenges from a different perspective.
In the same way, the rest of the participating municipalities were informed about the measures that the City of Bullas has carried out and programmed to strengthen the energy-sustainable community model, among which are: the update of the Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) ;
the integration of the Adaptation and Mitigation Plan in the General Urban Plan of the municipality;
realization of energy studies for municipal buildings;
the creation of an Energy Bank, as well as the celebration of events to raise public awareness of the need to adapt to Climate Change.
These two LIFE projects have meant that the City of Bullas has directly captured a contribution from the European Union of € 203,396.
