The Wine Museum hosts an exhibition on the centennial Bodega García Noguerol (27/09/2019)

Yesterday the exhibition "History of a winery. García Noguerol 1887-2018" was inaugurated at the Bullas Wine Museum that will be open to the public in the exhibition hall until December 1.

It is a winery that has 131 years of history, was born in 1887 when a young Antonio García Ruiz began his career as an industrialist, along with his wife, Juana Fernández Lorencio.

The family came from a winemaking tradition in line with the productive context of Cehegín and the Region where cereals, olive and hemp, and especially wine production had a special role.

His son Antonio García Fernández expanded the family business.

This one, in addition, was councilman in 1930 and mayor a year later.

He died young and the business happened to his wife María Josefa Noguerol Carrasco.

He would be the son of both, Antonio García Noguerol, being a great entrepreneur who will expand the capacity of the winery and also lead other projects in Cehegín.

How to found the first marble factory in the town, as well as the La Verja factory, or be president of the brotherhood of the Virgen de las Maravillas and councilor in the City of Cehegín.

Antonio García Noguerol died at 48 and left the witness to his wife, Andrea Zarco Egea, who with the help of his eldest son Antonio García Zarco and the employees they had at that time, Cristóbal, Martín and Bartolo, knew how to get ahead and maintain the trajectory of the company.

Antonio García Zarco together with his brother Salvador García Zarco created the company A. García Noguerol SL, producing wine for export throughout the Spanish geography and forming part of the 4 founding wineries of the Bullas Designation of Origin.

In 2018, the winery definitely closed its doors, after a long history.

All those years and history of the winery is what is collected in the exhibition through pictures, family photographs, press clippings, company products, such as old bottles and their labels, etc.

Marían García, daughter of Antonio García Zarco, the last winemaker to run the business together with his uncle Salvador García Zarco, addressed the attendees a few words to express their thanks on behalf of his family and on his own for wanting to share said "this special moment with us. "

The opening of the exhibition was attended by other family members, friends, members of the Municipal Corporation of the City of Cehegín, with Mayor Alicia del Amor at the head, as well as the Councilors of Tourism, Cultural Heritage and Cultural Programming of the City Council of Bulla
