Yesterday was inaugurated the IX sample wines from the DO Bullas.
The purpose of this event is that the Control Board of the Designation of Origin (DO) of Bullas evaluate new wines from the last harvest in the "Bullas Wine Show."
Thus, the sample began with the presentation and tasting of new wines at the Wine Museum, a ceremony that was attended by authorities such as the Mayor, Maria Dolores Muñoz, the Director General of Productions and Agricultural Markets, Fulgencio Pérez, the President of the DO Bullas, Francisco Carreño, mayors of Caravaca and Cehegin, regional deputies of the Northwest Region and winemakers and grape growers.
At the opening the Mayor opened the ceremony said, "This event will also serve to promote our wines, we claim the importance of spreading our goodness and our countrymen instill the need to purchase products from our region."
For his part, President Francisco Carreño stressed "the work of winegrowers who have faith in the work they perform, projecting and publicizing our products" despite the great difficulties facing the industry today.
The exhibition continues this morning with the contest of quality in the participating specialists and representatives tasters winemaker world.
These are pricing in blind tastings 10 registered wineries in the DO Bullas, in an initiative under the direction of Adrian Martinez Cutillas, former director of the Institute Murciano Agri-Food Research and Development (imide).
For this competition has established three awards (gold, silver and bronze) for each of the categories of white, rosé, young red wines without wood, wood and young red wines with red wines aged in wood.
The gala awards ceremony at which the prizes are awarded to the winning wines will be held in Moratalla tonight.
