The Ministry of Presidency and Development has tendered works to improve road safety at the intersection of the RM-B18 Bullas to the Cup, which connects with the Motorway Northwest RM-15 both for vehicles going in Direction to Murcia as those that accede from the localities of Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz.
The announcement corresponding to this tender was published today in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM).
José Antonio Fernández Lladó, Director General of Highways, highlighted the importance of this action, valued at 313,800 euros, which "will eliminate the traffic conflict point that currently represents the intersection of this road with the street Seis de Diciembre, where There are traffic problems due to lack of visibility due to the proximity of a curve ".
The intersection will be solved by the construction of a roundabout, which will have a diameter of 16 meters and that will allow to extend the central islet, in the form of a tear, and to connect it with the deflecting islet north.
In this roundabout, there are five different roads: the Carretera de La Copa street, the Sixth of December street, the access branch to Bullas from the Northwest Highway (Bullas exit), the RM-B18 road, and the branch Motorway from the northwest towards Murcia.
Another improvement of the performance will be to provide better lighting for the roundabout, for which it is planned to place eight light points that will be formed by different columns of 8 meters in height and LED luminaires.
Also included in the project is the construction of sidewalks in access from the Northwest Highway and the replacement of sanitation, drinking water and public lighting networks.
The works have a term of execution of six months.
