The Wine Museum has served as a stage to deliver this morning the diplomas that recognize the best restaurants and wineries that jointly paired the local cuisine with the wines of the Denomination of Origin Bullas during the months of February and March at dinners pairing within the VINarte cycle.

The Councilman of Culture, Antonio José Espín, opened the event presented to those who were there: the Mayor María Dolores Muńoz, the councilor for Tourism, Águeda Fernández, the President of the Ruta del Vino Association, Tońi Fernández, the Wine Master , Pachi Larrosa, the members of the jury, the Director of the Wine Museum, Salvador Martínez, as well as the restaurateurs and winemakers;

that today they have received their mention.

And, precisely this is what this year was the Pairing Dinner Contest, each of the participating restaurants and wineries have received one, two or even three 'M', indicative of 'better pairing' and quality assurance, based on the criteria of the jury integrated by experts in the culinary world.

Thus, the jury's decision was chaired by Francisco José Navarro, founding academic of the Gastronomy Academy of the Region of Murcia, and also integrated by Pachi Larrosa, gastronomic critic of La Verdad, and Francisco Hernández, gastronomic critic of La Opinión, It was the following: an 'M' for Castilian Restaurant and Bodega San Isidro, another 'M' for Restaurant Café & Vino and the Bodega Balcona;

with two 'M' Restaurant Café Casino of Cehegín and Bodegas del Rosario, also two 'M' for Restaurante Asador del Noroeste and Bodegas Lavia, and two 'M' for Restaurant La Almazara de Cehegín and Bodega Monastrell;

and with three 'M' Restaurant Borrego and Bodega San Isidro.

These recognitions, Larrosa said, "value the importance of the communion of the elements, food and drink, and not so much of each of them separately, in addition to having a story or coherent storyline around which to articulate this marriage making it on the basis of typical products of the local and regional pantry ".

Manifested also that "this unique initiative in the Region is an important task of dissemination of the wines of the Denomination of Origin Bullas, as well as pedagogy among diners about the secrets of the world of wine and pairing."

For its part, the President of the Bullas Wine Route Association, Tońi Fernández, congratulated everyone, restaurateurs and winemakers, for continuing to bet on this initiative that this year celebrated its second edition demonstrating its commitment to offer high-quality products. quality with wine as the backbone.

VINarte consolidates with good public acceptance data

At the end of this delivery of awards, the Councilor for Tourism, Águeda Fernández, has offered in numerical figures the attendance data for each of the activities of VINarte 2018.

La Edil de Turismo has started her speech highlighting the success of VINarte, which has consolidated as a powerful resource for tourism promotion.

And it is that, in general terms, more than 2,700 people have participated in the different activities developed in the municipality from February 16 to March 23.

Specifically, the promotional wine routes have enjoyed a good popularity with groups of 20 to 30 people, and more, particularly, the Route called 'Excursion to the culinary world of ancient Rome' which for its first edition was completed many days before its celebration.

The concerts in the Wine Museum have also posted the sign of no tickets with an average of 90 people per concert.

And both the pairing dinner and the guided tours of the municipality's museums have had a great public acceptance.

"It has been four weeks in which more than 2,700 people have participated in the activities of VINarte, so I can only thank the public for knowing how to value them and create a good atmosphere in each one of them," said the mayor, adding that " from the City of Bullas we will continue betting on wine tourism since it is a value and sure incentive of our town and by extension of the Region ".
