IURM puts Bullas general plan as an example of modern urban planning and participatory (10/08/2010)

The Spokesman of the Presidency of IURM, José Maria Ortega Gonzalez, presented the document General Urban Plan of Bullas, originally adopted on 28 July as an example of modern urban planning and participatory, emerged from the collaboration of the parties to co-govern the town of Bullas and PSRM IU-LV-PSOE and broad citizen participation, expressed through the Urban Planning Advisory Council and Environment Bullas, which are represented various groups in the locality.

This document is intended to create the conditions for progressive urban growth, from the inside out, and sustainable.

That stood out as highlights of the plan to create a large economic area, with new industrial and tertiary fields as well as several spaces for tourist infrastructure.

According to Ortega, the plan provides opportunities for development and employment, but does not include "massive rezoning for nothing", as these are part of a speculative and failed urban model.

The safeguarding plan urban growth areas of higher agricultural value, which itself will allow wineries and other agricultural infrastructure.

It also incorporates the protection of about 25% of the municipality, such as natural areas with different levels of protection.

BENEFITS TO THE VAST MAJORITY

The growth plan also protects residential enclave of La Rafa, a large wooded area dedicated to tourism infrastructure, sports and environmental, that will, according to the plan, safeguarded home and surrounded by equipment.

The new areas for development, around the southern part of the municipality and the hamlet of La Copa, allow a gradual growth of the town, from the perspective of progressive growth, acceptable for several decades.

These lands are owned by hundreds of residents of Bullas, for which the plan has benefits widely distributed.

ASK THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONAL LOYALTY

Finally Ortega lamented the obstructionist and irresponsible attitude of the local PP, which is expressly excluded to participate in this planning instrument, and has not made any contribution so far.

However, Ortega hopes that next fall, when the Plan is approved provisionally and sent back to the various departments of the autonomous region, is dealt with expeditiously so that it can enter into force once before and did not leave voluntarily sleep "sleep of the righteous "because the delay of entry into force of the plan would be extremely detrimental to the town of Bullas and economy.
