The Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, signed an agreement with the mayor of Bullas, Peter Small, the recruitment of 18 new public squares of day center for elderly care in situations of dependency.
The Department makes an investment of 302,400 euros, shared between the annuity, 2011, 2012 and 2013, to have these places in the center in the Canary street of the town and increase the supply of services for dependents.
The head of Health and Social Policy highlighted the "great effort" being made by the regional government "for all dependents who are in the region can count on the services needed for residential care and attention and care."
In the case of day care centers, Palacios said that "it is a service that comprehensively addresses and personal to each one of the biggest, but to dissociate themselves from their family environments, as central assistance is made for a specific daily schedule. "
The stay at the day center allows the dependent person to participate in intervention programs and therapies to improve their quality of life.
As the minister said, "These precautions are necessary to support their personal autonomy, which is one of our main goals."
Day care centers in the Region include among its features the basic care for the care of the user, and specialized services that include counseling, occupational therapy, physical rehabilitation and maintenance programs to improve mental capacity and memory, aimed at people with Alzheimer's or other dementias.
The work carried out in day centers conducted in coordination with clients' family members in order to achieve greater efficiency and improve results of therapy, while families receive information and advice from the professionals.
The Murcia region now has a public network of day centers for elderly dependent care, which consists of a total of 932 seats, including the catalog of the Law of the Unit.
