More than fifty women involved in the R Bullas Meeting of Associations of Women in the Northwest Greenway (08/03/2012)

Within the program of revitalization and enhancement of the Northwest Greenway, a group of more than 50 women Bullas has moved this morning by bus to Cehegín, host municipality to participate in the First Meeting of Associations of Women in Way and commemorate in this way, the United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace.

In the meeting organized by the Consortium of the Greenway have been present mayors of Cehegin and Bullas, José Pedro Soria and Chico, respectively, and Councilwoman Women and Welfare of Caravaca de la Cruz, Carmen Diaz, and the Manager of the Partnership, Juan Soria.

All have had words in this day of remembrance of the rights of women claimed real equality between men and women.

The mayor of Bullas said: "We have come a long way on the issue of women in Spain but there are still women in the world who suffer and are submissive to man, so we have to keep working."

Before the exchange of postcards between women's associations of Bullas, Cehegin and Caravaca, a manifesto was read precisely to keep fighting to achieve real equality and to end the bitter face of inequality: gender violence.

As witnesses have been in the Northwest Greenway a plaque and trees donated by the Foundation for planting Cajamar.

The group then visited the Interpretation Centre of Begastri late Roman site.
