The mayor of Bullas, Peter Boy, last week held a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá.
During his visit to counseling the Mayor requested the construction of a new treatment plant next generation in technology.
The municipality has, at present, with a sewage lagoons, a system of sewage disposal that is to let the water stand in an artificial lagoon waste outdoors and wait by the action of microorganisms purge water and ready for irrigation.
The drawback is that the influent waters have characteristics with some industrial load, in the meat, canned food and milk so often causes some serious problems as far as effluent water quality is concerned.
Therefore, the mayor considers it necessary to build a sewage treatment plant with latest technology explained to the Chief "because the water does not come completely clean and to comply with the law within the European framework must adapt and have a sewage plant conditions" .
With a new treatment plant would achieve filtration and disinfection of water so it can be reused by farmers without any risk to plants and / or products they produce.
On the other hand, its construction would allow the site now occupied by the treatment plant lagoons quedase reduced in that the dimensions of the art treatment plant are lower, and therefore would create natural pools that would be used by fauna .
For his part, Antonio Cerda said the Mayor to take the necessary steps in order to carry out this project in Bullas.
The meeting also talked about modernization of irrigation systems in areas of Bullas and La Copa, investment counseling performed recently.
