The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, took part today in the act of appointing Bullas Adoptive Daughter of Dr. M ª Eugenia Martínez Moreno, killed in Moratalla Health Centre on 11 March.
The ceremony took place as part of the festivity of Bullas 2009.
In his speech, González Tovar has welcomed this appointment "as a government representative and a medical professional" and it thanked the Mayor of Bullas, Esteban Egea, and all the municipal corporation as a whole.
He also noted that although this recognition, "does not lessen the pain of his family, his fellow Moratalla Health Center, of all health professionals and all of us, they at least can serve as an incentive and encouragement to show all that workers in public services are not alone, but on the contrary, they have the support and recognition of society. "
It has also announced that it has led to the Ministry of Labour to award posthumously the Gold Medal of Merit to Work to Dr. Dona Maria Eugenia Moreno Martínez support, thus, the petition already contains more than 4,500 signatures Support among health workers in the region as well as numerous individuals.
González Tovar has said that while "nothing we can restore life of Dr. Moreno Martinez" did more work is needed so that "all attacks on health professionals, like any other public servant, with the scope have, to be considered as a crime and not as failures, "according, he explained, with instructions that have been processed to the Office of the High Court so that they are qualified as crimes of authority.
