The Department of Environment welcomes the news of the CHS in which it communicates that it will maintain the flow of the Mula River (27/07/2018)

In a press release, the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS) informs that it will maintain the environmental flow of the Mula River through the resources coming from the Pliego reservoir.

In order to ensure that water circulates through the riverbed and is not diverted, the basin organization has sent a request to users with rights in the area so that they do not collect water for irrigation.

A news applauded by the Councilor for the Environment, Juan Valera, although it collects it with due caution and awaiting two years, a deadline that marked the CHS to execute the Plan of Ordination of Extractions to recover the aquifer of Bullas, declared as over exploited and that nourishes the birth of the Mula River.

Bullas City Council will follow the entire process and will request information from the General Meeting of Users, created to work together with the Confederation in the preparation of said Plan.

In addition, from the Confederation point out that the Water Commissioner will supervise the channel with the staff of the Fluvial Nursery, to ensure that the minimum ecological flow is maintained along the entire stretch of the river Mula.

"The ecological flow must be a reality in the entire course of the Mula River," says Valera adding "the various and different conversations that we are carrying out this term with the CHS, irrigation communities of Mula, Campos del Río, Albudeite, etc., conversations with the City Council of Mula, the creation of the Platform and with the success achieved in the Reclaiming March by the Mula River, are generating hopeful news ".
