The regional government has allocated 5.4 million euros to aid for the maintenance of vineyards in ecological (3.56 million) and the conversion of these (1.83 million).
In total, the Region has 12,500 hectares of vineyards that receive aid from ecological agriculture of the Rural Development Program of the Region of Murcia.
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Angel del Amor, visited a wine cooperative in Bullas benefited by these grants, where he said that "currently has paid 80.04 percent of the budget of Ecological Agriculture, endowed with 15,697 .090 million euros ".
He also stressed that "we have more than 17,100 hectares of winemaking vineyards that receive direct payments from the Common Agricultural Policy. A total of 4.55 million euros of which 1,362 farmers are beneficiaries."
In Bullas there are declared 269.63 hectares of vineyard with direct payments, 70 farmers are recipients with a total of 165,000 euros.
By 2018, "the Bullas Denomination of Origin Regulatory Council, which has 12 wineries, estimates an amount of 3,500 tons of grapes at harvest of the 1,900 hectares that the DO has in several municipalities," the counselor informed.
Last year the wine sector of Bullas achieved a volume of 2,675,733.62 euros in the domestic and foreign markets.
The biggest buyers are the European countries, Russia and the United States.
