The Bullas Wine Museum presents an exhibition of pyrography of the working students of the Mixed Employment and Training Program "MADERA DE BULLAS" under the title "WOMEN OF FIRE".
It exhibits a total of 30 paintings whose theme revolves around Bullas and Wine.
Landscapes of vineyards, natural landscapes such as Salto del Usero, heritage resources including the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, the House of Culture or the Wine Museum, are some of the resources that are shown in this exhibition. It will remain open from March 1 to April 7.
The Working Girls of the PMEF "Bullas Wood" have made these works using the pyrography technique in wood, transforming a simple piece of wood into a small work of art, where the best of each one is shown.
The word "pyrography" comes from the Greek piros (fire) and graphos (writing).
It is a technique practiced since ancient times.
Some date this technique in prehistory when the first humans created designs using the hot remains of their fires.
In China, during the Han Dynasty this method was known as "embroidery with needles of fire".
And during the Victorian era, the invention of machines sparked widespread interest in this type of craftsmanship and it was then that the term pyrography was coined.
