The Bullas City Council asks the population for responsibility to stop the incidence of Covid-19 increasing in recent days (15/10/2020)

Due to the significant increase in coronavirus cases in the municipality of Bullas, the Bullas City Council wants to transmit a message of awareness to the population.

This morning at a press conference the Mayor María Dolores Muñoz, the Councilor for Health, Paqui Fernández and the Councilor for Citizen Security, Alfonso Manuel Guirado spoke. The first to intervene in the media has been the Councilor for Health who has referred to the last few days in which there has been a considerable increase in positives for COVID that has caused the AI ??(cumulative incidence in percentage) in recent 7 days go from 26 to 173.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in Bullas.

"Despite the increase, there are no indications of community transmission.

The outbreaks are under control," said Paqui Fernández, who sent a message of encouragement "to all affected people, we wish them a speedy recovery and we send them all our support." Given these figures, the health authorities of the Region are beginning to be concerned about the situation in the municipality of Bullas.

"From the City Council we ask the neighbors not to lower their guard and to reduce to the maximum the close contacts outside our closest environment", said the Councilor for Citizen Security, Alfonso Manuel Guirado. Yesterday, there was a meeting with all the agents involved in this matter which, in addition to the aforementioned councilors and the Mayor, was attended by the Coordinator of the Health Center, the Head of the Local Police and the Sergeant of the Civil Guard to discuss how to deal the situation should it become more complicated. The restrictive measures implemented by the CARM remain in force and it is recalled that social gatherings of more than 6 people are prohibited, including family gatherings with non-cohabitants; being precisely, the family reunions, the place where the majority of outbreaks are taking place in our municipality. Finally, the Mayor recalled that "individual responsibility is the best weapon to combat this virus, from which no person is 100% free from being infected" insisting that "despite the fact that the situation is complicated, we can do a lot.

Practically, we know that the majority of outbreaks come from the family environment.

We have to avoid meetings of more than 6 people and follow health recommendations.

If the incidence does not drop, it can lead us to experience a significant setback.

To conclude by saying that "I have to say today I am here to protect us all.

Wishing the best.

May the best of one be the best of all."
