The project of the Municipal Library of Bullas 'The library as cultural expansion' has been one of those awarded by the Ministry of Culture with the María Moliner prize for encouraging reading, endowed with 2,000 euros. The purpose of the contest is to reward those libraries that carry out a unique project that includes actions to encourage reading, efficiency and library work, social integration in their community, as well as the use of new technologies.

In this edition, the XX María Moliner Reading Animation Campaign will reward the work of 310 libraries belonging to municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants, and among them is the Bullas library. "The awarded project has not been easy to carry out this year" they point out from the library, given the current circumstances of covid, confinement, activities with maximum capacity, for all this, they comment, "this year makes us more excited if possible." The subsidy must be allocated to the purchase of books and / or periodicals for the library, and that the bibliographic selection must be made by the staff of said library based on their needs and with the aim of completing their funds for the benefit of all residents of the municipality.
