[New meeting of the Local Monitoring Committee (03/02/2021)

Yesterday, the Bullas Covid-19 Local Monitoring Committee met again and at the end, at a press conference, the mayor, María Dolores Muñoz, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Alfonso Manuel Guirado, the Coordinator of the Center for Salud de Bullas, Salvador Egea, and the Manager of Health Area IV of the Murcia Region, Mercedes Barba.

In the first place, Mercedes Barba sent an optimistic message when informing that the situation in Bullas improves and that positive cases are remitting.

Also, he added that the Hospital of Caravaca is not collapsed thanks to the current network of hospitals.

Non-urgent surgical suspension as well as non-preferred outpatient consultations are still waiting.

Next, Salvador Egea, stressed that self-confinement is the measure that best reflects the incidence of Covid-19.

This has dropped considerably and even regretting the death of two patients, these are figures with a tendency to improve.

Regarding the vaccination process, he reported that the next doses will be destined for the population over 80 years of age.

They must travel to the Health Center or specific place for this purpose, therefore the City Council undertakes to deploy means and take charge of those who lack the means to travel.

For his part, the Councilor for Citizen Security, Alfonso Manuel Guirado intervened to recall the measures imposed at the regional level, such as the closure of businesses whose activity is not considered essential at 8 in the afternoon, the curfew and the ban of leisure meetings between people who do not live together, limiting the group in public spaces to a maximum of two people who do not live together.

To these regional measures are added the implementation by the City Council of Bullas at the municipal level such as the closure of children's areas in all the gardens of Bullas and La Copa, suspension of sports activities and closure of their facilities as well as those intended for activities considered non-essential (study rooms, library, Social Center of the Cross, Museums, etc.), control of the capacity of the Plaza de Abasto and restriction of the market on Tuesdays, disinfection of the busiest streets and public spaces and surveillance by of the Civil Guard and Local Police both of the urban area and of the adjoining fields.

The Mayor closed this intervention to highlight the expected incorporation of a group of volunteers from the municipality's Civil Protection to the Public Health Trackers Team and its effectiveness is trusted both in the municipality and in the Region.

It was also mentioned how the vaccination process is progressing.

While more doses are expected for the coming weeks, he called for prudence, solidarity and civic responsibility.
