This week, the Mayor, María Dolores Muñoz, held a meeting with the Director General of the Natural Environment of the Region of Murcia, Consuelo Rosauro, to demand, once again, the care of the environment of Salto del Usero.
The first mayor stressed in the meeting that the competence of the basin is of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura and that the rest of the environment should be commissioned by the General Directorate.
"This is the theory because in practice in the last two years the City Council has been in charge of managing control of the Salto, which means a huge economic effort in addition to the social pressure that this means," says Muñoz, who insists the Direction so that they do their own thing.
From the Directorate General of Natural Environment, they committed to provide some assistance to control access to this natural landscape of great beauty that during the summer season receives hundreds of visitors.
