The Ministry of the Presidency and Development will conclude this month the road safety improvement works at the intersection of highway RM-B18 Bullas to La Copa, which connects with the Autovía del Noroeste (RM-15) for both vehicles that go in the direction of Murcia as those who access from the towns of Cehegín and Caravaca de la Cruz.
The general director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, recently supervised the works, "which are executed at 50 percent and have a regional investment of 189,000 euros."
The aim of the action is to eliminate a conflicting traffic point due to lack of visibility.
The roundabout that is being built will absorb a high level of traffic, given that at this intersection there are five different roads: Carretera de La Copa, Calle Seis de Diciembre, the access branch to Bullas from the Northwest Motorway (exit Bullas centro ), the highway RM-B18, and the branch of incorporation to the highway of the Northwest towards Murcia.
José Antonio Fernández Lladó indicated that the action "will improve traffic conditions in the more than 630,000 journeys that are registered annually on this road", whose average annual traffic of heavy vehicles amounts to more than 20,000.
The intersection will be resolved thanks to the construction of the aforementioned roundabout, which will lengthen the central island, in the form of a 'tear', and which will connect the central island with the north deflecting island.
The outer radius of the roundabout is 34.60 meters, with a rail of 7.30 meters wide and outer shoulders and interiors of one meter.
