Antonio Llorente, 1 and Matthew Gimenez, 78, are the first two Bullas neighbors to plant a tree in what was the old landfill in The Cantos.
The planting ceremony took place on Saturday 26 February, organized by the Department of Environment of the Municipality of Bullas Bullas Each program within a tree, an idea promoted by Councilman José María Ortega.
At the ceremony attended by more than 150 people, mostly local families and authorities and the Mayor of Bullas, Esteban Egea, and councilors of all groups in the Town Hall.
The participants came to planting hundreds of native tree specimens.
Before you begin planting day was held a symbolic act, in which the older person and the youngest in the audience, proceeded to plantavión of the first trees, symbolizing the union of the various generations of Bullas towards environmental conservation and improvement of our people.
In fact, the former landfill site in Los Cantos, recovered today as green space for walking and sports, has become a symbol of improving the natural environment of the town of Bullas.
