President Garre qualifies Bullas Wine Route "one of the best initiatives of rural tourism in the region" (30/03/2015)

The President of the Autonomous Community, Alberto Garre, today stressed the "great work" that develops the town of Bullas to promote and encourage wine tourism in the Region of Murcia, and stressed the latest actions carried out in the most emblematic tourist facilities as Pepe Marsilla Casa Museo and Museo del Vino, which represent "another reason to visit the city".

The regional chief executive, with the mayor of Bullas, Peter Boy, visited both facilities, which have been undertaken "significant improvements" and stressed that Bullas "has managed to dramatically enhance the great cultural wealth associated with wine rich ethnographic heritage, making it one of the best initiatives of rural tourism in the region. "

Thus, stressed over 12,000 visits annually receives Bullas Wine Route, which represents a significant increase over the past three years.

The Wine Route is the thread that allows tourists to appreciate, in an organized and comprehensive, all the cultural diversity of the town, vineyards, ancient and modern wineries, monuments, natural or accommodation services and restaurants, among others.

The House Museum Pepe Marsilla and the Wine Museum are included in the tourist offer that is made within this route.

In particular, there has been an expansion of the museum Museo Casa Pepe Marsilla, with a total investment of over 127,000 euros, financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the City Council.

The House Museum rescues an important part of the local culture of Bullas, recreating the lifestyle of the early twentieth century, while preserving the historical heritage of the locality represented in this building.

It houses the archaeological collection of the site of the Roman town of Los Cantos.

Wine Museum

Garre President also visited the Museum of Wine, a place considered as "recognition of the winemaking tradition of the region" and that has undergone recent improvements regarding the updating of content, adaptations and reforms in the temporary exhibition hall, and the incorporation of new parts and donations to the permanent exhibition area.

In particular, we have added new interactive audiovisual devices dedicated to the senses, and updated the existing museology, adding information production data Denomination of Origin Bullas, the incorporation of new wineries, information on new languages ​​and other content.

The museum also renews its image with improvements in the museum shop, which incorporates new exhibitors and products.

The Chief Executive recalled the "effort" that has been done and the "illusion" putting into each and every one of the improvements that have been undertaken in the museum, which involves an investment of more than 67,500 euros, financed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, the Autonomous Community and the City of Bullas, co-financed by the European Union through the EAFRD funds.

Conceived as a multipurpose service center and related tourist and cultural promotion of Bullas and its production area activities, presents a didactic all processes used in making wine, clearly differentiating between traditional and procedures.

It is located in one of the few traditional wineries that have survived in perfect condition.

Its more than 1,400 square meters, offering visitors ample opportunities for recreation in the cultural environment emerged around wine.

Improvements in the swimming pool

President Garre also wanted to visit the local swimming pool to see the result of the work of improving energy efficiency have been carried out, and in which they have invested 163,350 euros.
